Come and Be Fed   Personal Needs Bank

ASEC is partnering with People’s Church and Christian Services of Greater Lansing to provide “personal needs” supplies such as shampoo, toilet paper and sanitary items to families in and around East Lansing. There are few resources of this kind in the community, and the need is great. In fact, according to Christian Services, there are no diaper banks in the area!

Toiletries, paper products, etc., cannot be purchased on a Bridge Card or with food stamps. Even families who do not qualify for any government assistance have difficulty making ends meet. Unexpected expenses can mean no money in the budget for “luxuries” like toothpaste and clean diapers.

A month’s supply of personal needs items will be distributed to families who have been referred by Christian Services. Volunteers will distribute these supplies at All Saint’s on two Saturday mornings each month.

There are many ways for you to assist with this outreach effort, as a shopper, packer or Saturday-morning volunteer. You can donate items on the list below or provide financial support. Checks can be made payable to All Saints, with “personal needs bank” on the memo line. For more information or to volunteer, contact Melissa DeRosia at derosim@lcc.edu.
